Better Business Bureau, Inc.

Any students who are members of the graduating class of 2018 and are attending accredited high schools in McMinn County are eligible to apply for a 2018 BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship.

Scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded. 

​

The criteria for the award will include:

Leadership (20%): Describe any extra-curricular, school-related activities. Include awards/honors or offices held. List past and present employers and describe positions held (if applicable, not required).

Community Services (20%): Describe any activities outside of school and within your community, such as church or special community activities.

Academic (10%): Enclose a copy of your most recent transcript. Describe post-secondary education plans. 

Essay (50%): Write a 500-word essay on "The Importance of Ethics in Business & Our Community." All essays become the property of the BBB. Winners' names may be released to the public and news media for promotional purposes.

Mail the completed application form, available in the Counseling Office, to the Scholarship Committee, Better Business Bureau, PO Box 4532, Chattanooga, TN 37405.

Must be postmarked or hand-delivered by Friday, April 6, 2018 by 3 p.m.

All McMinn Modern Professionals Scholarship

All McMinn Modern Professionals will award two scholarships in the amount of @50 to graduating seniors of this year (2018). One student from McMinn Central High School and one student from McMinn County High School will be selected. The scholarship deadline is Friday, April 13, 2018. Eligible applications and essays will be reviewed and award winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

All applicants must:

Have a 3.0 GPA or greater (transcripts must be provided)

Be enrolling in a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university (attach acceptance letter)

Submit essay question: In 500 words or less please describe how you plan to impact your community after college and how your education can help you achieve that.

Jerry Richardson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to graduating seniors at Central High School of McMinn County who are pursuing a career in Agriculture. Guidelines and application are available in the Counseling Office. Students should submit their completed application along with the essay to the Counseling Office no later than Thursday, April 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.

2018 Waupaca Foundry, Inc Scholarship

Three scholarships are available in the amount of $1,500. At least one is to be awarded to the sons or daughters of Waupaca employees. Two will be awarded to outstanding seniors (these recipients may or may not be a dependent of a Waupaca employee.

Scholarships can be picked up in Guidance and must be returned to Guidance by April 30th. 

​

A resume stating school activities and community involvement, two letters of references from sources other than relatives, and a high school transcript must accompany the application. 

Jimmy Pickel Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to graduating seniors at Central High School of McMinn County. This scholarship is for the amount of $1,000. One half of this amount will be sent to the college or trade school for the first semester and the other half will be sent for the second semester.

Applications are available in the Counseling Office. All applications must be turned in to your counselor along with your transcript and two letters of recommendation by April 30, 2018 in order to be considered.
